Because of the pandemic, our questionnaire had to switch to an online process. So far 125 people have completed the survey with the great majority saying that they think it’s a good idea to build affordable housing in the village. Over 30 people are interested in renting a home there. The full results of the survey will be available in early July. Thank you to everyone that took the time to respond and share their opinions with us.

We are delighted to announce that we have appointed a coach for our under 14s team.
Following a rigorous and extensive interview process, Luke Phillips has taken the helm. If you would be interested in lending a hand please get in touch.
The club would like to thank the outgoing coaches Gareth ‘Cookie’ Thomas and Matthew ‘Robbo’ Roberts for their hard work over the past 3 years.

Following on from the successful Solva Symposium held earlier this year, Solva Care will be hosting an online event for all community groups – or community-minded individuals – to find out more about how they could participate in this Pembrokeshire-wide partnership project.
Together for Change is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund to bring community groups together in Pembrokeshire to network and provide mutual support so that as many communities as possible can benefit.
The event is hosted by Zoom on Tuesday 30 June at 10am. For more details, see our project page Together for Change page. To register email Project Coordinator Jessie Buchanan on research@solvacare.co.uk before the 26 June giving the following information: your name, organisation and number of volunteers (if applicable), contact details, and area of interest in community development. Please let Jessie know if you would like to participate but have trouble with accessing Zoom and we will see if we can help.

The scheme was launched by Gwyn Price of Bay View Stores and Sam Ellison, of I Love Solva, to cheer people up and let them know they are appreciated. It has been a huge success. The boxes are given free of charge to nominated people in the
community who may be struggling financially, tired as they’re a key worker or work for the NHS, or others who may just need a little pick-me-up. Nominations can be submitted to Bay View Stores via their Facebook messenger. To date Bay View
Stores, along with a dedicated team, have delivered over 250 Cwtch boxes of food to members of our community and surrounding area. But they need your help to keep it going:
• You can make a monetary donation and we will use this to buy items. (Please message on Facebook or pop into Bay View Stores)
• You can donate food items into our food pod next to the shop.
• You can nominate someone who needs/deserves a Cwtch Box.
Every donation means that we can carry on doing what we are doing and helping those who need it.
A huge thank you also needs to go to Richard at Whitesands Beach House, Sam and our Tetris box packing queen Jane, plus the other companies that have been involved. Not forgetting Gwyn!
