Solva commemorated the end of the Great War throughout 2018. Solva Heritage Society, in particular, organised a series of events that were both poignant and thought provoking. You can download a the illustrated document, produced by Brenda Lloyd, that summarises Solva Heritage Society’s contribution.
The preferred route has been revealed!
Hugging the valley above Newgale beach, the preferred option is a two-and-a-half kilometre stretch linking Penycwm with a purpose built roundabout approximately 1km south of Roch.
The next stages are – if Cabinet agree – for Pembrokeshire County Council to apply for Welsh Government financial support to undertake further studies of the ground conditions, ecology and environment along the preferred route so that the precise location of the road can be determined.
Detailed surveys of the route will be undertaken as well as drilling some exploratory boreholes as part of the ground investigation. Detailed designs of the new road will be developed for public consultation before an application for planning consent and a public enquiry.
